Testimonies of Healing

More than six years ago I became acquainted with Christian Science, and cannot longer defer expressing my gratitude for the benefits I have enjoyed during those years Yielding to an irresistible impulse, then inexplicable to me, I went to England, as I imagined, to learn the language. I had lost all confidence in the teachings of the church to which I belonged, as I had learned from experience that my prayers were not answered.

In November, 1909, I found myself unemployed, homeless, and deserted by all my former friends, and so ill in mind and body with a complication of ailments (including frequent severe hemorrhages) that I could not have taken employment had it been offered me. My doctor, who was a very dear friend of several years' standing, finally told me that neither he nor any other man could do anything for me.

Early in life I entered the Christian ministry, but twenty years later I turned from it with a sad heart, dissatisfied with myself for not understanding the Bible, God, or even the creed of my church. I loved the church, and today I love her noble, self-sacrificing ministry.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the many blessings that have come to us through Christian Science. About two and a half years ago we began to attend the Christian Science church, more from curiosity than anything else.

I came to Christian Science for physical healing and as a last resort. I did not know it was a religion until I began to take treatment and to study Science and Health, which I found was indeed a "Key to the Scriptures.

It is with a grateful heart that I wish to tell of the blessings which we have received through Christian Science. For twelve years I suffered from gall-stone accompanied by cramps, and during this time tried all kinds of remedies in order to recover my health, but all in vain.

I am truly thankful to God for my healing through Christian Science, having been an invalid for twenty years or more. About a year before I commenced taking this treatment, I went to one of the best specialists in Cincinnati and passed through a very painful operation.

Only the power of God could do what has been done for myself and family, and the above testimony states my healing. I can add that I have never had a headache since, and am deeply grateful for Science.

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for the great blessing it has brought to me in the seven years since I first heard of it. I was then a helpless invalid and had been a very great sufferer for almost twenty years, my trouble being paralysis in the lower limbs.

I should like to add my testimony to those of many others, in gratitude for what Truth has "done for me. Year's ago, when the doctors one after another had done all for me that they could, as a last resort my family took me to Colorado.
