Testimonies of Healing

Shortly after President Roosevelt'S declaration of war on December 7, 1941, I enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. My mother and her mother were Christian Scientists, and I attended Christian Science Sunday School for a number of years.

Before I discovered Christian Science, I was a medical nurse. I dutifully took my children to the doctor for their checkups, but rarely gave them medicine.

The author lost her fear of the symptoms of disease while pondering this passage from John's Gospel: "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).

My husband and I had been married many years, but we had had no children. While I took great joy in spending time with my nieces, the goal of having children of our own seemed unreachable.

In the fall of 1998, I was operating a large front-end loader. The engine had just been overhauled and seemed to be working fine.

Christian Science Heals at all stages of human experience. I was reared in a home where Christian Science was practiced, and I have relied on it throughout my lifetime.

The September 1998 Christian Science Journal was a lifesaver for me. I had read and been deeply inspired by a report from the Annual Meeting of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, entitled "Witnessing the leaven of Truth in theology.

First as a daughter , and then as a wife, I seemed to be playing roles. I was mimicking what others expected of me.

A few months ago , I woke with a headache. As the day went on, the symptoms worsened.

There have been so many blessings and healings that have taken place in my life through the study and understanding of Christian Science as a way of life. This religion has been of great help in my academics at high school, and now at college.
