Testimonies of Healing

I have long wanted to give a testimony I hope will be a source of help to others. Some time ago I was knocked down by a van while crossing the road and was picked up by an ambulance and taken to the hospital.

For many years I have been reading testimonies in The Christian Science Journal and Christian Science Sentinel. They have brought much inspiration and encouragement.

In 1935, I was suffering greatly from depression brought on by various unpleasant events in my immediate surroundings. My unhappiness appeared to have reached its peak, when a family who were students of Christian Science came to visit me.

"God" and "Christian Science" are precious words to me. Many times when I have been in dire circumstances I have called aloud to God and have been instantaneously protected.

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and all the benefits I have received in the past forty years. Before we learned of this blessed Science, the doctor informed my husband he could do no more for me.

My childhood and adolescence were spent in terrible suffering, manifold and almost continuous. Here I will mention only that which relates to my eyes.

I am happy to submit the following testimony. Being a resident of California, I have been aware of the many so-called fad or cult religions that seem to spring up periodically.

We lived for some years in an area where a large and militant religious majority at times treated those who were not part of it with much bigotry and frequently with hatred stemming from ignorance and fear. In the midst of these attitudes we found a house, though we were turned away from more than a few doors because we were not of the prevailing faith.

I was introduced to Christian Science in 1939 by a dear aunt. My husband had been suffering from heart disease.
