Testimonies of Healing
As a boy, I learned of Christian Science from my mother. She talked to me about it, and although I feel now the groundwork was laid at that time, I did not study or follow its teachings as I grew to manhood.
The greatest blessing I have ever experienced was the coming into my life of Christian Science. It brought far-reaching changes of character, with resultant healing of severe bodily ills.
I am grateful for the many healings I have witnessed in Christian Science, and for Mary Baker Eddy, who gave this great religion to the world. For some years, before becoming a student myself, I had a very wrong idea about Mrs.
The benefits I have received through the study and application of Christian Science have been many and varied. It was my privilege to attend the Christian Science Sunday School, and, as a boy, I was quickly healed of a number of so-called childhood illnesses.
Christian Science healing is available to all. A sincere desire to be a good Christian Scientist enabled me to lay aside reading glasses I had worn for several years.
"O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him" ( Ps. 34:8 ).
My wife and I are both students of Christian Science. For well over thirty-five years Science has answered our every need.
In moments of thoughtful retrospection I feel a deep sense of love and humility toward both my paternal grandmother and my parents, who persisted in the study of Christian Science. It has been the still small voice of the Christ, Truth, signaling the direction of every important turning point of my life.
My family, in which both grandfathers were Protestant preachers, was sincerely Christian, and I went to church and Sunday School willingly. Like many other young persons beginning to think for themselves, I soon began to look for a religion more satisfying to my reason.
