Testimonies of Healing
Having had Christian Science practically all my life, I have enjoyed a lifetime of freedom from sickness, disease, and accidents. I know that through the study and application of Christian Science, and the lessons I learned while attending Sunday School, I have been protected and sustained.
Since my last testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel more than ten years ago, I have received many blessings and proofs of God's care. The giving of testimonies at the Wednesday testimony meetings gives one a feeling of saying "Thank You" to God.
I first became acquainted with Christian Science in July, 1941. Since then my life has been completely changed.
On page 402 in Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes, "The time approaches when mortal mind will forsake its corporeal, structural, and material basis, when immortal Mind and its formations will be apprehended in Science, and material beliefs will not interfere with spiritual facts.
When our oldest son was about three years old, he came into our bedroom early one morning, complained that he didn't feel well, and then appeared to lose consciousness. His body became rigid, and he seemed to be in a coma.
I am deeply grateful for the healing of a growth on my face. Through steadfastness in Truth and the work of a devoted practitioner, this growth was completely removed through Christian Science.
My sister was taking music lessons from a woman who was a Christian Scientist. She asked the woman questions about Christian Science and came home and told us about it.
Christ Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" ( John 8:32 ). I have proved, in some degree, the practicality of this statement.
I would like to express my gratitude for a wonderful healing of alcoholism through the application of Christian Science. For several years I drank to have a good time, to be with the "in" crowd.
My introduction to Christian Science came through a college friend. She, her mother, and her grandmother were active church members.
