Testimonies of Healing
Grand Ledge, Mich. Dear Journal:— No words can express my gratitude to God for the blessings received through Christian Science.
Where does one begin to tell of a life-time of blessings which have come as the result of studying and applying Christian Science? Christian Science has met my every need since I was a small child. Measles, mumps, and other problems were quickly healed, but the healing which took more time and consecrated prayer was that of a paralyzed hand.
It has been over ten years since my testimony appeared in our periodicals, and the proofs of God's goodness and ever-present care have continued to unfold since that time. One experience that has been a great source of inspiration Was the healing of grief at the passing of my mother.
Since beginning the study of Christian Science in 1913, I have had many healings. However, the benefit of Christian Science healing was experienced many years before, when, as an infant, I was healed of pneumonia by a Christian Scientist.
"I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten" ( Joel 2:25 ). This has been a promise and a beacon since my first healing through the prayers of a Christian Science practitioner.
From the age of nine I attended a Christian Science Sunday School and shall always be grateful to my many teachers for what I now realize was a very thorough grounding in the fundamental teachings of this Science. For some years after leaving Sunday School, I applied Christian Science in a desultory fashion when confronted with personal problems or those connected with my job.
It has been some ten years since my last testimony was published in one of the Christian Science periodicals. So much good has unfolded in the intervening years that once again I would like to share my blessings with others.
It is with gratitude and much love for our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, that I offer this testimony.
Christian Science came into my experience many years ago when a relative offered me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
Twenty-one years ago while in England, I learned for the first time of Christian Science. I returned to my homeland and told my family about Christian Science, especially that one could really remain well without the use of medicine.
