Testimonies of Healing

It was a blessed day about twenty-three years ago when I told my fiancee, a Christian Scientist, that I would attend her church and that after we were married I would allow any children we might have to attend a Christian Science Sunday School, although I would not promise that the children would have no medical aid. To date, with the children now of college age or older, there has been no need to insist on medical treatment for them, because Christian Science has proved to be a quick, effective means of taking care of their human needs while carrying them through the years to spiritual and moral advancement.

I am fifteen years old, and in my fifteen years as a Christian Scientist I have had many examples of God's ever-present love and healing power. I go to Sunday School every week to get a clearer view of the Lesson-Sermon, and many times I have learned something new about it I had not realized before.

Words can never express the gratitude which my husband and I felt when, through complete reliance on Christian Science, our teen-age daughter was quickly healed of a fractured jaw. Three years ago on the day before Thanksgiving I was called by a school official who stated that our daughter had fainted and had had a severe fall.

To workers in the Christian Science movement who sometimes feel their efforts are not effective and to all who serve so unselfishly in the Reading Rooms and Sunday Schools, I offer this testimony. If the seed of Truth is sown, it somehow, sometime, must produce fruit.

My gratitude for our beloved Leader, who gave to the world the blessings of Christian Science, grows and grows. This Science has helped me to see God's continuous protecting care for all His children.

Christian Science was brought into our home over sixty-five years ago. My parents began to accept its teachings at that time because my mother was told after a medical diagnosis that she would not live to rear her family.

It is with humble gratitude to God and a deep and ever-growing love for Christian Science that I write this testimony. I am grateful beyond words for God's abundant goodness, for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and for Mrs.

I shall always be grateful to our heavenly Father for guiding my mother to renew her study of Christian Science. Her grandmother and mother had been students of it, and she had attended Sunday School as a young girl.

For over twenty-eight years now, I have been a student of Christian Science. I have had many proofs of God's presence and power and the absolute practicality of Science during these years.

I had always read the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals in a rather cursory manner; to me they often were just something with which to fill up an idle moment. Sometime ago in an hour of great need I was led to open a  Sentinel to a testimony that lifted me right out of my difficulty.
