Testimonies of Healing
It is with a deep sense of gratitude and joy that I recall my first visit to a Christian Science practitioner many years ago, for it was then and there that my journey into the land of Science began. I went with a member of my family who was seeking healing, but I had no thought that I myself needed Science.
I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and particularly for a healing that I had while I was attending junior high school. Our city was gripped by an intense fear of infantile paralysis and was in quarantine, the public schools and Sunday Schools having been closed.
One of the cherished recollections of my childhood is that of my mother reading from a big book of Bible stories as my sisters and I clustered about her. At this juncture, I received the news of the healing of an aunt, who had suffered from asthma for twenty-five years.

I shall always be grateful for our need of finding a home shortly after World War II, when housing was very difficult to obtain. It was through this need that we found that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" ( Ps.
I should like to express my gratitude for the teachings of Mrs. Eddy and the spiritual understanding they impart, for the revelation of the true meaning of the Holy Scriptures and for their practical availability in all difficult and discordant circumstances.
When I became interested in Christian Science I was a registered nurse and had become thoroughly indoctrinated with materia medica, believing it to be the only method of healing. I was convinced that I could never accept Science as a healing agency.
For several years during a period of economic depression, I was troubled with impaired hearing. This condition developed at a time of great shock and sorrow.
