Testimonies of Healing
I am very grateful for the Christian Science Sunday School, where I was first taught the basic, healing truths of the divine Science revealed by our Leader. After graduating from high school, I had the privilege of serving as an associate at the Christian Science Benevolent Association on Pacific Coast.
Some time ago our young son manifested impetigo. Although my husband and I did prayerful work in Christian Science, the condition continued to spread.
At a time when I was very ill I prayed to God and asked Him to preserve my life for the sake of our three young children. I was suffering from many physical difficulties for which I had taken various medicines and had had different injections.
It is a joy to testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. Since I began the study of this truly scientific religion in 1953 I have been healed of chronic tooth troubles, colds, digestive disorders, and of an inclination toward mad ambition, false appetites, and mental despair.
During World War II, my husband and I lived in a city that was at certain periods bombed day and night, and we were wonderfully protected although my husband served as an air-raid warden and I as a fire watcher. One occasion stands out.
For many generations on my father's side our family had been plagued with hereditary recurrent nauseous headaches. At least one in each generation had had these headaches as far back as anyone could remember; and by the time my two brothers and I came along, the fear of the symptoms made their appearance in one of us almost inevitable.
My gratitude for Christian Science is unceasing. In every way for over twenty years it has been the physician in our family.
Christian Science came into my family's experience when I was an infant. My mother was healed through it of a stomach ailment after the physician had said that in his opinion she had only three months to live.
I should like to express my gratitude for the many blessings which have come to me through the study of Christian Science. I did not come to it for a physical healing, but I had been searching for many months for a reason for things and had done a great deal of reading.
Christian Science came to me as a direct answer to prayer at a time when I was very much in need of knowing God aright. My marriage did not bring the happiness which I had expected; rather it brought a great disillusionment.
