Testimonies of Healing

For as long as I could remember I had wanted to know what the truth is. Although I occasionally attended a Christian Science Sunday School, it was not until my early adult years that my intense desire to find the truth led me to search earnestly for it in the Bible and the writings of Mrs.

For the understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him, as we learn it in Christian Science, I am deeply grateful. During the last twenty years all my physical difficulties have been healed quickly and completely when I have turned prayerfully to God, and many healings, including those of colds, burns, a stiff neck, headaches, and sprains, were immediate.

I had just begun the practice of reading our weekly Lesson-Sermons from the Quarterly when my first opportunity to use Christian Science presented itself. I had been wrongly accused by a co-worker of intriguing against him, with the result that my position became untenable.

From the time I was very young I had searched for a religion that would give me hope and a right understanding of God. After my children were born I joined an orthodox church because I believed they should attend some Sunday School.

For more than twenty years Christian Science has been my only physician, and my gratitude to God for our Leader and for the textbook, Science and Health, which she wrote, is immeasurable. During these years I have had many proofs of God's loving care and protection enabling me to enjoy a full, happy, and healthy life.

Having been brought up in Christian Science and having had ample evidence of its blessings and protection throughout many years, I feel that I must testify in writing to its enrichment of my life. I shall be forever thankful for the strong, sustaining love of my family and friends that surrounded me during the difficult period after my husband passed on.

With a heart overflowing with gratitude to God for "his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men" ( Ps. 107:8 ), I write this testimony.

My first expression of gratitude in the periodicals appeared as a testimony in the Journal of June, 1939. The healings enumerated in that testimony have been permanent.

I came into Christian Science when I was a young woman. At that time I had been suffering from tuberculosis for six and a half years.

My mother's daily example of a life dedicated to the teachings of Christian Science in gratitude for her healing of what had been medically diagnosed as an incurable heart disease has been an unceasing source of encouragement to me in meeting successfully the many challenges encountered in my progress Spiritward. A severe eye infection resulted in the need for me to wear glasses; but I was healed, and the glasses were later discarded as a direct result of the application of the truths I had learned in the Christian Science Sunday School.
