Testimonies of Healing

I turned to Christian Science for answers to the many questions about life and God which had bothered me very much even when I was a child. My desire to learn more of God and life and truth led to much self-examination and investigation into many different creeds.

One of the first healings I experienced in Christian Science occurred when I sprained my ankle. I had done this frequently for years, and the sprain was always accompanied by pain and swelling.

When Christian Science was presented to me I was in a very confused state of mind resulting from the breaking up of my marriage and my home. Some friends who were regular attendants at the Sunday services and Wednesday testimony meetings of a Church of Christ, Scientist, told me about the blessings of their religion.

If anyone had told me six years ago what was in store for me and my family and how it would be accomplished, I should never have believed him. I had demonstrated many times that man's true health is spiritual, and I had had many proofs that man's true supply comes from God; but during my three-year term as a Reader in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, which was followed by my husband's term as a Reader, I gained such a conviction of what real happiness is that I am certain I have found the way of Life.

" These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. " This passage from Revelation (7: 14) may well be applied to a vast number of people, including myself, who have found deliverance from difficulties, both physical and mental, through the teachings of Christian Science.

I began the study of Christian Science in the hope of finding security, peace, and a way to survive under adverse circumstances. For several years I had been plagued by discouragement.

I was led to the study of Christian Science through a curiosity to know what it is. My husband's parents were Christian Scientists, the literature was in their home, and I often picked it up and read it.

My parents began the study of Christian Science shortly after their marriage, and I received early training in this Science which has stood me in good stead ever since. During eighteen years of active flying service with the Air Force, including the years of the Second World War, I was not involved in an accident, nor did I suffer any injury in combat.

Until I had my first healing in Christian Science many years ago, I knew nothing of this religion and had a number of physical difficulties. One day I was very ill.

Christian Science was brought to the attention of my aunt, with whom I was living, while I was still a young child. The neighbor responsible for this kind act cheerfully consented to stay with me one afternoon when I was confined to bed with a severe head cold.
