Testimonies of Healing
In the Bible we read ( Job 22:21 ): "Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee. " The study of Christian Science has satisfied my longing to gain a better understanding of God.
Although I had known of Christian Science since my childhood, having attended for a while the Christian Science Sunday School, I drifted away from it in the current of mortal mind. But eventually I learned that "man's extremity is God's opportunity.
A religious article in The Christian Science Monitor entitled "God Will Help Us" reminded me of a time several years ago when it seemed that I had more than it was humanly possible for me to do. Two older members of the family needed my attention in two different places at the same time.
I attended the Christian Science Sunday School from an early age and have known no religious teaching other than Christian Science. I have always turned to it for help, and it has met my need, whether it was for physical healing, supply, companionship, or guidance in the making of decisions.
From early youth I was active in the work of an orthodox church. At the age of twenty-five, in a school of theology, I lost my belief in God.
From the age of five I was afflicted with a disease of the lungs that physicians in Europe could not diagnose. By the time I was twenty-seven, they agreed that I could not survive more than five or six years.
It is with heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for her wonderful discovery of the absolute healing power of the Christ, Truth, as taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus, that I wish to share the first evidence I had that Christian Science is ever available for our use.
About twenty years ago, a skin disorder for which three doctors could offer no cure developed on my hands and feet. A friend told me of Christian Science, and a Christian Science practitioner began to treat me through prayer.
I have had many healings in Christian Science, for which I am grateful. I am especially grateful for the healing of grief after the sudden passing on of my daughter.
