Testimonies of Healing

When I was a little girl, my mother, who had been an invalid for several years, was healed after three days of treatments by a Christian Science practitioner. My mother then took up the study of Science, and I was enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School.

I have had the privilege of being reared in Christian Science, and I have had many proofs of its ability to meet every need. Several years ago I moved to a large city in which I was a stranger.

I could never begin to express enough gratitude for the spiritual good that has been my reward since turning wholly to Christian Science. That reward has been manifested in financial stability, right companionship, harmony in the home, and the doffing of unlovely character traits, the joy of meeting each new day, and the sense of security.

When I was about five years old, I enjoyed looking through a book of Bible stories that had many pictures of Christ Jesus in it. I remember saying to my mother: "Wouldn't it be wonderful if Jesus were still here? Then he could heal all the sick people.

With a humble and profound sense of gratitude I testify to the healing power of Christian Science. Over forty-five years ago I was healed of a severe nervous disorder that baffled physicians.

My introduction to Christian Science came about through the instantaneous healing of our infant daughter when all evidence indicated that she was passing on. A year later I was sent to a sanitarium for tuberculosis to be quarantined because my father and two sisters had passed on with the disease, and I was suspected of having the condition in its incipient stages.

One day while standing in a doorway sheltering me from a shower of rain, I saw the notice of a Christian Science Reading Room on the premises. At this time in my experience I was in great need of help both physically and spiritually, and I know now that the guiding hand of God led me to enter the room to study and pray.

One day, while bathing at the beach with my family, I was knocked down by a huge wave. When I came out of the water, I could hardly stand or walk.

I am grateful for the physical healings that have resulted from my study of Christian Science. The temptation to accept colds and headaches as realities has been overcome.

Many years ago a Christian Science Sentinel was presented to me. I was told that it was published by a religious organization that believed in Christian healing.
