Testimonies of Healing
For years I have read hungrily the testimonies of healing in our periodicals. In the hope that my own experiences may help someone else I wish to give my testimony.
Having boarded in the homes of other people during my childhood, I grew up feeling sorry that I did not have a home of my own. It was not until I joined The Mother Church and a branch church that I learned the true nature of home as a manifestation of God's love for His children.
Early one morning my son went to cut corn with the corn harvester and tractor. As lie was approaching the field of corn he went down a hill.
It is with deep gratitude that I submit this testimony, hoping that it may inspire others to find in Christian Science the practical, available answer for their every problem. As a child I was considered frail and sickly.
" It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord" ( Ps. 92:1 ).
With humility and gratitude I submit this testimony of the efficacy with which Christian Science heals and saves. My introduction to the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, came in a Christian Science Reading Room, where I read till informed by the attendant that it was time to leave.
Recently as I sat quietly recalling the many years of blessings which I owe to Christian Science, I felt that it would be most fitting to send a testimony for the periodicals, which have been my daily benefactors throughout these years. Without these publications I could hardly have carried on at times.
Gratefully and humbly I wish to submit my testimony of healing and protection experienced solely through the study and practice of Christian Science. While I was serving in an executive position for a large nationally known company, my health became impaired, and a medical examination indicated that I was suffering from a nervous breakdown.
" How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth" ( Isa. 52:7 ).
In Psalms we read ( 75:1 ), "Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. " Because God's nearness has been proved to me many times by His wondrous works, I should like to express my gratitude.
