Testimonies of Healing
I should like to express my profound gratitude for Mrs. Eddy's revelation of Christian Science.
I am grateful for this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science and for having been raised in this truth with the accompanying privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School. I have experienced many healings, including those of colds, periodic pain, headaches, depression, and extreme homesickness.
One of many outstanding proofs of the power of Christian Science to make manifest God's care and provision for the well-being of His children took place after I was elected First Reader in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. While I had been very desirous of serving as Reader, I had never had the necessary faith to give up my position as a traveling salesman, which was my only human source of supply and thrice the amount of the Reader's salary.
During childhood I attended many orthodox Sunday Schools but never felt satisfied with their teachings. However, when I began to read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I knew without a doubt that I had found the truth for which I had been searching.
Knowing that testimonies of Christian Science healing are positive proofs of the power of divine Science and of God's care for His children, I offer this testimony. In rearing our family of four children we have had many such proofs.
When I first attended a Christian Science church service, I had the feeling that I had found a religion in which love is more than just a word. All through the years before I knew of Christian Science I had clung to the thought that there must be some unselfish, great love by which to live.
It is difficult to find words with which to express my gratitude for the spiritual unfoldment Christian Science has brought into my life. It came to me when nothing else could have helped, and I had a wonderful awakening to the truth it teaches.
" Many , O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered" ( Ps. 40:5 ).
In May, 1930, I became acquainted with Christian Science. A friend of mine was very ill and had found that medical treatment was of no help to her.
