Testimonies of Healing

When hit by an automobile, I sustained, among other injuries, a broken collarbone and shoulder. Knowing that Christian Science is the best surgeon and that divine Mind makes all needed adjustments, I accepted no medical aid.

An understanding of the truth of being as taught in Christian Science is the most priceless gift we can have. I have had many experiences which have proved to me beyond any possibility of doubt that Christian Science is the truth and that "man is the expression of God's being" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p.

My gratitude for Christian Science is unbounded, and it is a great privilege for me to tell of a few of the blessings that have come to me and my family during the thirtyodd year's we have been studying this truth. Christian Science was first presented to our family through the Christian Science Sentinel.

In 1948 my husband and I had the great joy of acquiring a small farm of our own after we had worked on a farm several years for somebody else. But suddenly this joy was turned into sorrow, for after persistent coughing on my part an X-ray picture was taken, which showed a large cavity in one of my lungs.

In the opening lines of the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes ( p. vii ), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings.

" Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy" ( Ps. 107:2 ).

Before I recently became twenty years of age I was a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School. I attended it for eighteen years, and much good has come to me from that attendance.

During World War II the organization by which I was employed was affected by a shortage of labor. Observing the difficulty that was experienced in obtaining men to do jobs necessary to maintain the high standard of the institution, I went to the manager and asked if I might wash windows.

Christian Science was mentioned to me first by a young man, who spoke of it as a religion that healed, and next by a young woman with whom I worked, who had experienced a healing of cancer. It was not until years later, however, that it was again brought to my attention.

I consider it a great privilege to be able to add my testimony to the many others which appear in our periodicals telling of the healing power of God revealed in Christian Science. My first healing took place when I was about fifteen years old.
