Testimonies of Healing
A very great need in our family led us to take up the study of Christian Science. A younger sister had been doomed by a physician's verdict to an early death.
" What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?.
It is with an ever-increasing sense of gratitude that I submit this testimony. I have overcome many difficulties through the application of Christian Science during the years that I have been a student of this wonderful truth.
The power of the Word as revealed in Christian Science has been proved beyond doubt in my experience. I shall never cease to be grateful for a healing which took place several winters ago.
When I was a young girl I would watch Christian Scientists pass my home on their way to church. The love and joy in their faces made a very deep impression on me which I never forgot.
It was about twenty-five years ago that I took up the study of Christian Science, and it is time that I testified to the numerous blessings which I have received. This simple and practical religion has fulfilled my desire to find the true God.
I am grateful for this means of expressing my gratitude for all that Christian Science is and for all that it does. Although I was brought up in a Christian Science Sunday School I slipped into the byways of material pleasures and began to smoke and drink.
Christian Science came into my experience many years ago at a time of great confusion of thought, poor health, unhappy home life, and business problems. On page 114 of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has written in referring to Christian Science, "It shows the scientific relation of man to God, disentangles the interlaced ambiguities of being, and sets free the imprisoned thought.
I first heard of Christian Science when my husband introduced me to a friend who was a student of Science. About a year after this our youngest son became ill.
Our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, slates in "Miscellaneous Writings" ( p. 262 ), "Dear readers, our Journal is designed to bring health and happiness to all households wherein it is permitted to enter, and to confer increased power to be good and to do good.
