Testimonies of Healing

" The kingdom of God is within you" ( Luke 17:21 ). That the discovery of God's reign of harmony is independent of place or condition has certainly been shown to me.

This testimony is given as an expression of my love for God and Christian Science. It has been my privilege to know this Science all my life.

I am increasingly grateful for Christian Science and for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, as well as for all the avenues in which the truth is going out to meet the needs of the world today.

In Psalms we read ( 107:7 ). "He led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

An overwhelming sense of gratitude for having been awakened to the great power of good in the Bible prompts this testimony. I had studied the Bible in an orthodox Sunday School from the time I was a child; but in my late teens I decided there was no proof that it meant more than any other book, for I did not feel convinced that God was anything more than a fable.

On page 240 of Science and Health our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says, "If at present satisfied with wrong-doing, we must learn to loathe it.

Following the loss of my husband, I permitted erroneous thinking to make a most unhappy person of me. One day while I was talking with my sister, who was not a Christian Scientist but had read some of the authorized literature and had attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, a few times, she said to me, "I wish you would see a Christian Science practitioner.

For many years Christian Science has been a wonderful help to me in meeting the problems of life and in subjecting them to the divine Principle which Science expounds. It first rescued me, as a girl, from nervous prostration, which had rendered impossible my enjoyment of life, cut me off from normal social pleasures and relationships, and reduced me to a near skeleton.

As a token of gratitude for many blessings, I should like to offer this testimony of some of the demonstrations of God's care my family and I have experienced through Christian Science. I attended the Sunday School as a child, and although I drifted away from participation in church activities and from daily study of Christian Science during my teens and early twenties, the truths I had learned sustained me in times of need.

In preparing for extensive travel abroad involving sea and air transportation, I mentally tucked away these words from Psalms ( 139: 7-10 ): "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? .
