Testimonies of Healing

I attended the Christian Science Sunday School from the age of four and also had the guidance of two devout students of Christian Science, my grandmother, who was a practitioner and pioneer in the movement, and my mother. However, it was not until the following incident occurred that I realized the full import of Mrs.

For many years I have been receiving encouragement and inspiration from reading the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals. Now I should like to add my testimony, hoping that it may be helpful to someone, although words are inadequate to express my gratitude for the blessings that have come into my life.

Although I have given testimonies at Wednesday evening meetings in Churches of Christ, Scientist, my written expression of gratitude is long overdue. I have had many healings through Christian Science.

My early childhood was dominated by the cruel conviction that I had nothing acceptable to contribute in my relations with others. I experienced much unhappiness from continual colds, extreme round shoulders, fingernail biting, St.

Five years ago I was taken suddenly ill with a nervous breakdown complicated by-heart trouble and high blood pressure. I was very weak and was confined to bed.

It is more than twenty-five years since I heard of Christian Science. At first I was reluctant to accept its teachings.

My appreciation is unbounded because of the fact that the impressionable years of my teens were spent in the Christian Science Sunday School. How well I know that here was laid a foundation for withstanding the distractions and temptations presented by the illusory claims of mortal existence.

About twenty-five years ago I was told by several physicians that it would be necessary for me to undergo a major operation in order to avoid being an invalid for the rest of my life. In my extremity I turned to God for help.

It is with a deep sense of gratitude for Christian Science that I write this testimony. In 1910 I moved to a western city to make my permanent home, and I became very friendly with some Christian Scientists.

In gratitude for divine help in my hours of need I submit this testimony, hoping that it will strengthen another's faith in God. Christian Science has been my help for over forty-five years, and it has proved to me that regardless of whether a problem is small or great, man's dominion over it can be demonstrated.
