After I saw my sister instantaneously healed through Christian Science of a severe headache, my first thought was to make this religion my own and to study the Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly each day. Previously my sister had been subject to frequent and extremely painful headaches. In the more than nine years since her healing they have never returned.
Through the loving help of practitioners, the testimonies given at Wednesday evening meetings in Churches of Christ, Scientist, and the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, members of my family have had many healings. They include those of broken ribs, fallen arches, swollen tonsils, adenoids, a dog bite, gas poisoning, severe coughing, blood poisoning, a sprained back, and a sprained ankle. Christian Science was the only treatment given in these cases.
Soon after I took up the study of Christian Science my eight-year-old son suffered from ivy poisoning on his face. When this had occurred in previous years I had taken him to the doctor and received a prescription to be used. This time I said to my son, "Take your Science and Health to your room and read the chapter on Prayer." He did so, while I declared the truth. Before long he came downstairs to go outdoors, but I did not look at his face. When I saw him later in the day I realized that his face had cleared up and that not a trace of the ivy poisoning remained.
