Be quiet, earth, and rest; be tranquil, still.
Bow down, dissension, strife, hostility;
Cease, mortal sense, to dream iniquity;
Let all creation know God's holy will.
Let the oppressor no more work his ill,
Let captives rise and fear and sorrow flee;
Christ comes again to set the suffering free.
Its power the barren wilderness doth fill
With tender flowers of purity and grace;
Again are raised to life those that were slain;
The needy ones are given bread. The Word
Today brings heaven to earth in every place
Where Truth to humankind is growing plain.
Peace, earth! Be quiet, sense. Let Christ be heard!
