Testimonies of Healing
Twelve years ago Christian Science came to my attention through a healing of mastoiditis which my mother experienced. My interest in Truth's healing power was stimulated by the splendid work and loving-kindness of a practitioner.
The testimonies in our periodicals have been such a help to me that I should like to relate some of my healings, hoping they may be helpful to someone else. So many physical problems were mine that my life seemed one long night of misery.
The periodicals of the Christian Science movement are like a voice reaching over continent and ocean. For years I have received inspiration, comfort, and encouragement from the testimonies in the Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel; now I wish to give my testimony.
It is now more than twenty years since my first testimony was published in the Christian Science Sentinel, and I should like to express again my deep gratitude for the blessed truth God gave to the world in the writings of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.

How great is the goodness of the Almighty! In deepest gratitude I should like to bear witness to the healing power of Christian Science. At the time of my finding Science I was in the depths of darkness, confusion, and fear.
I took up the study of Christian Science a number of years ago when one who was very near and dear to me decided to turn to it for physical healing, having become discouraged while under the treatment of an eminent physician. The healing was accomplished through Christian Science.
About fourteen years ago, while attending a dinner party, I was stricken with a severe attack which a doctor diagnosed as a heart attack. The doctor referred to many medical laws, told me I would never enjoy the normal activities of life again, and suggested that I go to a sanatorium for a six months' rest.
I should like to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science. It has been my staff, my guide, and my comforter at all times.
Before I came into Christian Science, more than eleven years ago, I was a fully trained and registered medical nurse and had worked with medicine for over twenty-five years. When a patient whom I was nursing commenced to have Christian Science treatment my reaction was one of scorn and incredulity, for I felt that medical science had given its verdict in the case and that Christian Science could not possibly know more about a disease than did the doctors who had diagnosed it.
