Testimonies of Healing

I came into Christian Science several years ago after three months of being in and out of hospitals with a blood infection and a nervous breakdown. I had a series of blood tests, X rays, shock treatments, and everything else that medical science recommended for my help; but I grew worse steadily and lost weight rapidly.

It is with a deep sense of gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and mine that I give this testimony. My hope is that it may help someone whose healing seems slow.

I can never be too grateful for having been taught Christian Science by my mother when I was a child. In the place where we then lived there was no Christian Science church or Sunday School, but there was divine Love, tenderly imparting its lessons to its little ones.

With an ever-increasing sense of gratitude for the many blessings which have come to my dear ones and me through the study and application of Christian Science I wish to offer this testimony. My first healing was that of a chronic functional disorder of many years' standing.

It is with a deep sense of love and gratitude for growth in grace and for innumerable proofs of the constant care and protection that God gives His beloved children that I submit this testimony. As a very small child I was constantly ill and under a doctor's care.

Jesus said ( Matt. 10:8 ), "Freely ye have received, freely give.

It is a great privilege to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for what it has done for me. It has healed me of many disorders and corrected many false conceptions.

How very grateful I am to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, for providing us with her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which contains the remedy for all human problems. I am also grateful for the periodicals— The Christian Science Journal with its healing metaphysical articles, editorials, and testimonies; the Christian Science Sentinel with some more messages of Love and Truth that replenish and refresh our thought; The Christian Science Monitor, our daily newspaper, with its quiet and unbiased views on current events.

For many years Christian Science has been my only physician. My introduction to it came at a most critical time, when tuberculosis threatened my life.

When I entered a hospital to train as a medical nurse my desire was to do healing work. I could not reconcile myself to the methods used, however, and I made myself unpopular with my seniors by saying so.
