
Testimonies of Healing
A dear friend, seeing my need for healing, presented Christian Science to me, but I did not accept it immediately. I had just had a severe operation and thought if I could only regain my health I should regain my joy and happiness and establish harmony in my home.
Words alone can never express my gratitude for the joy and peace that have come into my life through the study and application of Christian Science as taught by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and her other writings. After all my family had passed on, Christian Science healed me of intense loneliness, sadness, and fear of the future, as well as a sense of frustration and inactivity.
From my early youth to young manhood I regularly attended an orthodox church and Sunday School. But later, when I was associated with agnostic and atheistic thinking, it became evident that I had not been taught anything basic which I could use constructively in defense of my religion; so I was not able to follow Peter's instruction ( I Pet.
Words are inadequate to express one's feeling of gratitude after witnessing a healing in Christian Science of a disease which seems to give evil one of its most prolific sources of human bondage. My wife's healing of tuberculosis was so complete and effective that I feel it is a privilege to verify it.
In Isaiah ( 43:12 ) we read: "I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God. " I came into Christian Science for a healing of tuberculosis.
In the Christian Science Sentinel of February 15, 1941, appeared a testimony telling of several healings which I had experienced through the application of Christian Science as set forth in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.
I turned to Christian Science when all material aid had failed me. Through this wonderful, practical religion, I was healed of nervousness, sick headaches, sore throat, colds, and astigmatism.
With a deep sense of gratitude for Christian Science I write this testimony. All that I am and all that I have I owe to the understanding I have gained through the earnest study and application of the truths of this practical religion for the past nineteen years.
In gratitude to God for the many blessings that I have received through the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science and with the hope that it may be of some benefit to others, I wish to give the following testimony. A member of the family became interested in Christian Science in 1886.
It is impossible for me to express in words the gratitude I feel in my heart. My desire is to prove by my life that I really am grateful for the grace, mercy, and love which God has bestowed upon my family and me throughout the years we have known of Christian Science.
