Testimonies of Healing
" He sent his word, and healed them" ( Ps. 107:20 ).
Over twenty-seven years ago I accepted Christian Science after witnessing the healing of our baby of curvature of the spine. The family physician had told us that nothing could be done.
I have received so much good from the testimonies which I have read in the periodicals that I wish to share my experience. In Psalms we read ( 42:1, 2 ): "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
In my early childhood I was an invalid, for I had had birth paralysis and was a very weak and sickly child. Everything possible was done for me, but I was faced with the difficulty of not being able to learn anything.
After having the joys and benefits of Christian Science for over sixteen years, I feel I should wait no longer to express my sincere gratitude for this revelation of the truth of being, which our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has given to the world in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. " The revelation that God is infinite Spirit, Mind, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love, and that man is a spiritual idea, forever living, moving, and having his being in God, is constantly a source of joy and inspiration to me.
I wish to express my appreciation for having been introduced to Christian Science early in my life. I was enrolled in the Sunday School at the age of three.
I give this testimony with the hope that it will reach someone who will be cheered by a further proof of the fact that it is God, and God alone, who heals all our diseases and makes us whole. My family and I have relied on Science for thirty-nine years.
I became acquainted with Christian Science more than forty years ago. At that time my husband and I were living in the United States.
Over seven years ago my eight-year-old daughter was stricken with severe pains in her back. This condition increased in intensity and was accompanied by an extremely high temperature.
When a child I often sought God through prayer and longed for more convincing evidence of His nearness. I am sure that this early effort to find God prepared my thought for Christian Science, which came to me when I was a young mother with two sons to rear.
