Testimonies of Healing

When I was a small child, I sat one evening on the front steps of my parents' home grieving for a brother who was seriously ill. Two women passed by, and one of them remarked: "This is where the —family lives.

In 1905, relatives of my husband, who were ardent Christian Scientists, mentioned the healing efficacy of Science and said that all disease could be healed. My husband became interested enough to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and to have treatment.

How can I begin to find words to express the gratitude I feel for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science? I turned to Science many years ago in search of help for a relative. I started in at once to read the textbook.

In grateful acknowledgment of the many blessings that have come into my experience through Christian Science during the past twenty years, I give my testimony. When Christian Science was presented to me I felt no particular need of physical healing, but I did realize my need for something that I did not have.

A painful and inflamed condition of my mouth caused me to visit a dentist, who reported that an X-ray photograph showed there was a growth of a cystic nature and tendency on my jaw. He declared that it was not considered dangerous medically but it was the practice to operate to remove such a growth because it would go on growing.

It is with a heart filled with joy and gratitude to God for the Bible, Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, that I give this testimony. Over half a century ago my mother was instantaneously healed of a discordant condition which no physician had been able to heal in years of trying.

For several years I have experienced the healing and blessings which come to us when we earnestly study and apply the rules of Christian Science. This Science was presented to me when I was very much in need of it, but I did not depend on it entirely for healing.

Christian Science is the greatest blessing in my life. Having always enjoyed good health, I did not seek Truth for physical healing.

A deep sense of gratitude and joy is mine as I recall a beautiful healing of what the medical profession would call blood poisoning. While I was working on the hedge in the yard a thorn lodged in my thumb.

I am deeply grateful for Christian Science. It has met my every need.
