Testimonies of Healing

The words of Christ Jesus ( John 8:32 ), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," can be proved by all mankind. I am grateful that I turned to God, whose laws have been made understandable by the teachings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

With a heart full of gratitude to God, and with the hope of benefiting others as I have been helped through reading the testimonies, I record here some of the blessings received through my study and application of Christian Science. In 1930 I spent a year traveling in the Philippine Islands, where I contracted amoebic dysentery and also sprue, a tropical disease for which medical science at that time knew no cure.

I am deeply grateful that when I was a very small child my mother was led to Christian Science and almost immediately placed me in the Christian Science Sunday School. During those years, I did not realize all the good which was being given to me, and which I was storing up for later use.

With a deep desire to help others who may be laboring with a slow healing I give this testimony. I took up the study of Christian Science for the healing of a malignant growth.

For over thirty years Christian Science has been my daily guide, my only and ever-present physician. For its uplifting and healing effect in my life I can never be grateful enough.

I am grateful to God for the good that has come into my experience through the study of Christian Science. I realize that it has given me years of active, joyous living which would otherwise have been impossible.

That Christian Science heals instantaneously, completely, and permanently I am grateful to bear testimony. Thirteen years ago I experienced a great deal of suffering with my eyes, resulting from nervous exhaustion.

With deep thankfulness to God I submit this testimony in the hope that it will bring help and comfort to others. I am very grateful for what Christian Science has meant and is meaning to me.

It was through the healing of a sister that I became interested in Christian Science. She had not been well for years, and physicians had told her that after a needed operation was performed she must spend her days as an invalid.

My husband brought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, to our home about fifteen years ago, after he had heard that Christian Science heals. I read it casually from time to time, but never very seriously.
