Testimonies of Healing

I should like to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science, for the Christian Science Benevolent Association Sanatoriums at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and in San Francisco, California, and for the wonderful healings that are taking place at these institutions. While visiting New York City in 1928 I became very ill and quite helpless from an attack of sciatica.

" O Sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory" ( Ps. 98:1 ).

I Wish to express my gratitude for always having been a student of Christian Science. When I was a very young child, my mother was healed through it of a supposedly incurable disease.

In the year 1906, I was given a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I regard as one of my dearest possessions. For many years I had been ill with an internal growth which the doctors could not remove without an operation.

For some time I have felt a deep sense of disquietude over the fact that procrastination was robbing me of the opportunity of expressing my gratitude for Christian Science through the pages of our periodicals. Every time the thought came to me to express gratitude in writing the excuse always presented itself that I had frequently given testimonies at Wednesday evening meetings and thus had fulfilled my moral obligation to others (Manual of The Mother Church, by Mrs.

I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing; however, I have had many proofs of its healing efficacy, as well as protection against disease and accidents, during the past fifteen years. I was reared by parents who were devoted to their church, but I was unable to find in my religious training the way to combat discouragement, limitation, and fear.

Several years ago, when I was visiting my mother and sisters, I was stricken suddenly with a spasm of pain in my side and stomach. It was so intense that I seemed to be unable to think clearly.
