Testimonies of Healing
It was about twelve years ago that I noticed an announcement of a forthcoming Christian Science lecture. I noted the date and mentioned it to a friend.
So many healings have occurred in our family as a result of Christian Science that I could not relate them all. I was a practicing dental hygienist when this Science was called to my attention through my father's healing of hernia.
Each day I realize anew the importance of Christian Science in my life. I know that I am experiencing a more abundant life through its sincere study and application.
In humble gratitude I wish to give this testimony of my healing in Christian Science. About four years ago I became ill with what seemed to me to be a serious nervous condition.
When I was about twelve years old. my mother was ill in bed for two years.
For twelve years I have enjoyed reading the testimonies of healing published in the Christian Science periodicals and listening to those given at the Wednesday evening meetings. Now I have come to the conclusion that I am not doing my part if I neglect any longer to share with others some of the blessings I have received through the study and practice of Christian Science.
It was as a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School that I first learned how to apply the teachings of Christian Science in my daily life. During the intervening years I have been blessed by my daily study of the Bible, the Christian Science literature, by membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and by class instruction.
I feel most grateful for the privilege which Christian Science has brought to me of daily demonstrating God's power and protection. Many years ago, while we were summering at the seashore, my young son ran a sharp piece of the boardwalk into his foot.
I should like to tell of an experience I had one winter when I was alone. It was considered the coldest night we had had that season.
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. " Christian Science has given me a glimpse of the true and perfect God and of man, His beloved son.
