Testimonies of Healing
For all the blessings that have come to me through the study of Christian Science, I am sincerely grateful. Before coming into Christian Science, whenever something unusually pleasant came into my experience, I always thought it was too good to be true.
It is now many years since Christian Science brought to me that which I was seeking—a God whom I could intelligently worship. I have found in this Science the answer to all my questions.
Several years have passed since my first testimony was published. During these years many additional proofs of the healing power of Truth have come into my experience, and I am most grateful for continued growth in Christian Science.
With a sincere desire that the following testimony may be helpful to others, I should like to relate a few of the experiences I have had during my study of Christian Science. While taking an active part in the work of an orthodox church, I started to attend the services of the Christian Science church in our city on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.
There is a hymn in the Christian Science Hymnal (No. 146) which reads, in part, as follows: In God I find a precious gift That knows no fear, no feud, That glows so still, serene and pure: The gift of gratitude.
That "man's extremity is God's opportunity," I have proved beyond the shadow of a doubt. I wish to testify to my healing through mental surgery.
While in the yard picking roses, two years ago, I fell and broke my arm. Thinking it was only a bad sprain, I tried to know the truth about it as we are taught in Christian Science.
I am grateful for the many healings I have experienced through Christian Science treatment. I have been healed of a sprained ankle, an infected finger, acute pain, and severe headaches.
I was healed in Christian Science after a long period of sickness with stomach and bowel trouble. Physicians I went to consulted with specialists, all available medicines and theories were exhausted, and at last I underwent a number of operations.
When I was a child I attended a Christian Science Sunday School. I shall always be grateful for this privilege.
