Testimonies of Healing

Through this testimony I wish to express my gratitude for the great blessings I have received since I learned of Christian Science five years ago. It was my wife who first began the study, and seeing the happy results she had, I was in turn drawn to this Science.

Because I find myself associated again with men in the Army, I have vividly recalled many instances of God's loving protection and guidance during my service in the first World War. Divine Love often kept me from temptations of the flesh, and in many other respects made my path easier.

I am sincerely grateful that I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School. Opportunity has been afforded me many times throughout the intervening years to prove the truths I learned there, and it is a real joy to testify to the efficacy of this demonstrable Science, as given us by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

When Christian Science was presented to me about twenty-seven years ago, I was suffering from a nervous breakdown and chronic throat trouble. I was living in a small community where there were no Christian Scientists, and I did not know a practitioner.

Gratitude to God for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and for the consecrated life of our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who gave us Christian Science, impels me to give this testimony. Fourteen years ago, while living in a large midwestern city, I was steadily losing weight and strength.

I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science, which has been my only physician for the past fourteen years. When I have been obedient in applying its teaching, it has never failed to heal.

I should like to express my deep gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me in the past twenty-two years. On page 1 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes, "Thoughts unspoken are not unknown to the divine Mind," and she adds, "Desire is prayer.

From my own experience I know, beyond question, that when its rules are earnestly applied, Christian Science heals every kind of disease and difficulty. Although I have known of Christian Science all my life I was very antagonistic to what I believed its teachings to be until I was instantaneously healed, solely through reading its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Since becoming interested in Christian Science in 1921, I have experienced many beautiful proofs of God's care and guidance. I find that as I understand and apply the teachings of Christian Science given in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and other writings by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, my need is always met.
