Testimonies of Healing

On page 167 of Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes, "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized.

During the past eighteen years Christian Science has brought a great number of blessings into our home. The last few years, in particular, have brought me a wider, freer concept of good, for which I am especially grateful.

Christian Science was presented to me at a time when I greatly needed it, for I was depressed, unsatisfied, and without hope. I had a devoted family and all my material needs were generously met, but this was not enough.

When Christian Science was first tried in our home, for one of the children, I did not think I needed it, for I was not aware that I needed healing of anything. But healings began to come to me very soon after I started to read the Lesson-Sermons found in the Christian Science Quarterly and to attend the Christian Science church on Sundays and on Wednesday evenings.

I wish to add my testimony to the many published in the Christian Science periodicals. I shall never cease being grateful to God, to our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

As the years go by, my gratitude for my first healing in Christian Science increases, and it has never ceased to inspire and encourage me in my endeavors. After undergoing two surgical operations, I was told by the eminent surgeon attending me that I could never hope to be well again, for it was not possible for surgery to remedy my condition.

It is indeed a joy to tell of my first healing in Christian Science, which took place about eleven years ago. I had attended the Christian Science church for several years, and had felt the peace and happiness the services bring.

The happiest experience I have ever had has been the unfolding of the truth that has come to me in my study of Christian Science. I know that words can never express my appreciation of and gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy for revealing Truth to the world in such a way that all may understand and know the perfect nature of God and man.

With deepest gratitude for a religion which draws one near to God in word and deed, I offer this testimony of the healing efficacy of Christian Science. Though many healings and blessings have been my portion, I should like to give testimony to a healing of torn ligaments in one leg, caused by my falling down several steps.

My husband and I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing, but both of us have since experienced many healings. In 1936 we met a student of Christian Science, whose words and outlook on life so impressed us that one day we asked for information about Christian Science.
