Testimonies of Healing

THE healing efficacy of Christian Science has been forcibly proved in my experience. While taking a course in professional education, I was afflicted with epilepsy, and, while I was able to finish my course of study, the erroneous condition appeared to grow upon me to such an extent that I was incapacitated for any work.

IT is difficult for me to conceive of our being without Christian Science, for this wonderful truth has meant very much to me and to members of my family over a period of twenty-seven years. In the student world, the business world, and the social sphere I have experienced many proofs of both the protective and the corrective power of God, ever available to us through heeding the explanations and following in the footsteps of our beloved Way-shower, Jesus, and our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

Words can never express the gratitude I feel for the joy, love, and happiness I have experienced since taking up the study of Christian Science, about nine years ago. Before that time, I did not think it possible to enjoy such peace and harmony.

I am more grateful than I can say for all the good that has come into my life and home through the earnest study and application of Christian Science. I have experienced many proofs of the presence and power of divine Love in the overcoming of various forms of sickness and error, such as the tobacco and liquor habits, the using of profane language, and a quick temper.

Christian Science has done so much for me that it is with a deep sense of gratitude that I write this testimony. A few years ago, I fell on the pavement, breaking my arm.

Appreciation of Christian Science as the basis of harmonious living leads me to add this testimony to the thousands of others given by grateful seekers of Truth. Early in my experience as a student of Christian Science I was attacked by an insidious and supposedly incurable disease, which so weakened and unfitted me for normal activity that I was obliged to leave my college work and remain at home for ten months.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT to God and testimony before men of benefits received through Christian Science treatment always bless. I gratefully offer this testimony of my first healing in Christian Science.

For over six years my husband and I have relied exclusively on Christian Science healing for ourselves and our two children, and I desire to express gratitude for the many blessings received through its teachings. About two years ago there was an outbreak of children's diseases in the public school that our eightyear-old daughter attended.

The words of the following hymn express the gratitude I feel for Christian Science ( Hymnal, No. 375 ): We thank Thee, Father-Mother, For blessings, light and grace Which bid mankind to waken And see Thee face to face.

Most of us experience certain decisive healings in Christian Science which may be compared to mileposts along the way. One of these victories, in my case, was the instantaneous healing of a distressing throat infection.
