I have been greatly encouraged and inspired for many years by the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals.
Several years before taking up the study of Science, I made this remark: "When my children are grown, I want to take up Christian Science." In a few years, after two trips to the hospital and continued medical treatment, one child, it seemed, might not live to grow up. I then took up the study of Christian Science in an effort to help the child, who was suffering from something the doctors did not seem to be able to name or heal. With the help of a loving, patient practitioner he gradually became stronger and the attacks less frequent, until he was healed.
I was very grateful and continued the study. Since that healing, God has been my only physician. This child and his brother are grown up now and are strong, healthy men. Hysteria and melancholia were overcome, also the necessity of a brace for a misplaced organ, which caused me much suffering. To walk a few blocks had formerly exhausted me. Hay fever passed into its native nothingness. Headaches, to which I had been subject since childhood, and which many times caused me to remain in bed for two or three days, were healed through Christian Science. A great measure of fear has been destroyed.
