Testimonies of Healing

When I was a child, my mother was healed through Christian Science, after she had been given up by the physicians. I was sent to the Christian Science Sunday School, which I attended for many years.

For some time I have wanted to send to our periodicals a testimony of the healing power of Christian Science, but I felt I must be quite sure that it really was a Christianly scientific healing, and not one of blind faith alone. I now have positive proof that, when correctly applied, Christian Science heals sickness.

It is with sincere gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and to Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, that I give this testimony, with the hope that someone who may doubt the healing efficacy of Christian Science will be helped. When Christian Science came to my knowledge I was in the depths of despair, because I did not know that God is ever present.

I have been greatly encouraged and inspired for many years by the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals. Several years before taking up the study of Science, I made this remark: "When my children are grown, I want to take up Christian Science.

Many times when I have been tempted to entertain thoughts of weariness or depression I have found surcease and satisfaction through a perusal of the testimonies found in The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, or in the chapter "Fruitage" in our beloved textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It is in the hope that my experiences may be of benefit to those seeking encouragement and help that I am writing this testimony.

It is with deep gratitude for all Christian Science means to me that I give this testimony. My parents became interested in Christian Science when I was a young boy, and ever since then I have continued its study.

I am grateful for this opportunity to express my gratitude for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and for her gift of Christian Science to the world. Healings such as those of influenza, athlete's foot, headaches, depressed business conditions, and many others have come to me through the loving help of practitioners, while others have come through my study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.

I came to Christian Science, not for physical healing, but because I had witnessed my sister's healing of organic trouble some thirty years ago. She had been to many physicians, who told her they could do no more for her.

For twenty years Christian Science has met my every need. It has comforted me when loved ones have passed on.

I am reminded today of my deep debt of gratitude to all Christian pioneers and prophets; to Christ Jesus, our dear Master; and to Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader. I am grateful to loving Christian Science practitioners for their help; to all dear workers in this service, and for class instruction, which has promoted my well-being by showing me the importance of consecrated, systematic study of our textbooks, the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs.
