Testimonies of Healing

After I had searched for eleven years or more in many philosophies and isms for peace, and had tried to discover what the mighty Nazarene meant when he said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free," I was led, through circumstances which seemed adverse at the time, to take up the study of Christian Science. Not only have I found the truth in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, but I have proved it many times.

My gratitude knows no bounds for the many blessings and healings that have come to me through the study and application of Christian Science. I have been healed of grief over the passing on of a dear one.

I feel like the Psalmist, who said, "Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. " I have received so many blessings through Christian Science that I can no longer withhold this expression of gratitude for the numerous proofs of divine Love's care and guidance; for right desires blessed and fulfilled; and for an ever-increasing and practical understanding of the unchanging nature of God as omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniactive Love.

Each day I become more grateful for Christian Science and for Mary Baker Eddy, through whose loving foresight it was established. Attendance in a Christian Science Sunday School has given me a stronger faith in good than I should otherwise have had, and I am happy that my children have this wonderful privilege and are learning to rely on God as their present help.

For all the encouragement and inspiration received from reading the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals throughout many years I am deeply grateful. I have had a number of healings while reading Science and Health by Mrs.

I first became interested in Christian Science for the healing of physical disabilities. At that time I was suffering from an organic disorder, insomnia, extreme fatigue, and indigestion.

That Christian Science can heal, even when death seems near and inevitable, was proved to me in the healing of my daughter, over twenty-two years ago. After three physicians had given up all hope of saving her, I turned to Christian Science, for I felt that Christian Scientists knew how to pray availingly; and I am grateful to say that my daughter was brought back from death's door.

In gratitude for the healing and beneficent power of Christian Science I should like to tell of a few of the healings which have come to me and mine in the past twenty years. I was instantaneously healed of rose cold or hay fever, a condition of several years' standing; and of influenza in its worst stages.

In 1935, when beginning the study of Christian Science, I was a slave to the smoking, drinking, and gambling habits to an inordinate degree. Just prior to this I had made a strenuous effort to stop smoking through the use of so-called will power, but had failed miserably.

I am grateful to know that God is Life, without beginning and without end, and that man, as His image and likeness, is never born and never dies. I was called upon to prove this truth when a loved one passed on, and I can truly say that there was no sense of loss, and a better understanding of Life was gained.
