Testimonies of Healing

Ever since I can remember I had searched longingly for the truth. I read books on philosophy and attended different denominational churches, some of them only once.

I wish to share some of the proofs that have come to me through Christian Science, which has taught me to recognize God's omnipotence and protection and to know the powerlessness of mortal mind in everyday affairs. The peace of Christian Science won me at a time when I had virtually given up churchgoing.

It gives me a great deal of happiness to have this opportunity to express gratitude for the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I was healed, when a young girl, of curvature of the spine, believed by the medical profession to be incurable, and Christian Science has been my only physician and help ever since.

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy for giving to the world Christian Science.

I am grateful for having been healed of a nervous breakdown. This healing was an awakening to the divine facts of being, and occurred about a month after the birth of our second son, when to material sense I was in need of recuperation.

It is nearly twenty years since I first attended a Christian Science lecture. I was then ready to inquire into this teaching, and soon knew that I had found what I needed.

We read in the Bible, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy. " We have had protection and numerous healings in our family, including those of measles, scarlet fever, whooping cough, and smallpox, some with the help of practitioners, and some through our own understanding.

I have a great desire to give my testimony to the glory of God and in grateful confirmation that Christian Science, through divine power, heals disease and liberates from sin and human passions. In the spring of 1938 I suddenly became ill with thrombosis in both legs.

From my earliest recollection until the age of twenty I attended the Christian Science Sunday School, and Christian Science has been my only physician. However, I was not awakened to the higher spiritual purpose of Christian Science until the passing on of my mother, when I realized my need for a change of thought from a material basis to the spiritual.
