Testimonies of Healing

It has been my privilege since the age of twelve years to be connected with the Christian Science movement—first as a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School, where I learned many lessons of Truth and Love and gained many true friends. While still a pupil in the Sunday school, I suffered at one time from a severe attack of pneumonia.

In times of discord, upheaval, and apprehension such as we are at present experiencing, Christian Science comes to pilot us through every danger and difficulty, showing us how to think rightly, whatever the material conditions may be. Recently I had occasion to be on the high seas when we were confronted by grave danger from submarines, a ship being torpedoed within a few hundred yards of us.

I have been a student of Christian Science for many years, having reared my family in its teachings. My understanding of this Science has been the most precious thing I have ever possessed, and I have never ceased to thank God for it.

Humbly and gratefully I submit this acknowledgment of benefits received from the study and application of Christian Science. Many years ago I had my first healing through a Christian Science treatment, lovingly given by one of Mrs.

During a period of over twenty years, the Christian Science periodicals have come into my home. The reading and study of them has been not only an exceptionally splendid educational process, but a means of spiritual enlightenment.

I have long wished to express gratitude for many blessings resulting from the study of Christian Science. To human sense I traveled an unhappy and painful pathway for many years.

This is in grateful acknowledgment of a healing, which has been permanent, that I received when attending a Christian Science lecture some time ago. Every year I suffered at about the same time from very bad attacks of influenza.

I am very grateful for the healing of a sprained ankle and dislocated knee joint which resulted from a fall. Being alone in the house at the time of the fall, I was filled with fear, but I constantly declared God's presence and power as I pressed the kneecap back into position.

We did not come to Christian Science for a healing, for we did not realize at the time our great need; but, in expressing a little kindness to a friend, we were led to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in one of the Christian Science churches in a large city. Nothing we have experienced so nearly approaches our thought of heaven as that Wednesday evening meeting.

It is with joy and deep gratitude that I give this testimony. I took up the study of Christian Science about ten years ago, after being told by one of the outstanding medical specialists that he had exhausted all the skill at his command, and that there was nothing further he could do for me.
