Testimonies of Healing

I want to express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and for my entire family. Since I turned unreservedly to it nine years ago, healing has followed healing, and blessing followed blessing, until we count ourselves rich, not in worldly goods, but in health and spiritual strength, which money cannot buy.

Christian Science was brought to my notice in 1923, when a Scientist came to board with us. I was in very poor health, for I was having periodic attacks of headache, asthma, and hay fever.

Christian Science came to me in answer to my desire for Truth, when I was living in one of the country districts of Western Australia. I had been reading library books for about three years, but it became more and more difficult to find a book worth reading, though new ones arrived every month.

I have enjoyed so many benefits through Christian Science that I scarcely know where to start in expressing my gratitude. It is nearly thirty years since I first witnessed a healing through the application of this Science, although at that time I knew nothing about it.

I Very well remember the first time that I really listened when someone presented Christian Science to me. I had suffered at intervals for nearly twenty years from the effects of a fall on the ice while I was snowshoeing.

Although I attended the Christian Science Sunday School for a number of years and went to church services quite regularly thereafter, for many years the real import of the teachings of Christian Science did not seem to make much impression upon me. Then I discovered one day that when trying circumstances arose, quotations from Science and Health by Mrs.

When I was a child, my mother was healed through Christian Science, after she had been given up by the physicians. I was sent to the Christian Science Sunday School, which I attended for many years.

For some time I have wanted to send to our periodicals a testimony of the healing power of Christian Science, but I felt I must be quite sure that it really was a Christianly scientific healing, and not one of blind faith alone. I now have positive proof that, when correctly applied, Christian Science heals sickness.

I have been greatly encouraged and inspired for many years by the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals. Several years before taking up the study of Science, I made this remark: "When my children are grown, I want to take up Christian Science.

It is with sincere gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and to Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, that I give this testimony, with the hope that someone who may doubt the healing efficacy of Christian Science will be helped. When Christian Science came to my knowledge I was in the depths of despair, because I did not know that God is ever present.
