Testimonies of Healing

It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I give this testimony of a healing through Christian Science. I had suffered about seventeen years from concussion and a double fracture at the base of the spine caused by a fall, and was partly paralyzed.

Christian Science came to my rescue a few months after "the last enemy" had entered my home and, as it seemed to me then, had left me desolate and alone with a little ten-months-old babe to rear and provide for. I had fallen into such a state of grief that I often found it difficult to be courteous, and I would say to myself that I did not care anything about a God who would treat me like this.

It is over thirty years since my first healing in Christian Science. I had suffered for several weeks from eye trouble which oculists did not cure or glasses correct.

A few years ago I was very sick; in fact, so much so that one day I thought I was dying. I was alone at the time.

As so many others have done, I too should like to tell of what Christian Science has done for me. I did not begin to study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy until October, 1919, although I had attended Christian Science services during the summer of that year.

Christian Science came to me over two years ago. I had never heard of it before, but thought I would study it.

The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have always been so inspiring to me that I, too, want to express my gratitude through them for Christian Science, which has been my friend, comforter, and physician for over eleven years. I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, but sought it because its religious teachings appealed to me.

Since I have known of Christian Science, this religion has brought to my family and to me so many blessings that above all I wish to express my gratitude for the fact that Mrs. Eddy, through the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," has again revealed the way to health and the understanding of spiritual, eternal Life.

As a result of a Christian Science lecture delivered in one of our local churches I was healed of an attack of indigestion which had been with me steadily for three days. This is only one of many healings I have had in Christian Science, for which I am most grateful.

Christian Science was first brought to us over thirteen years ago by a dear friend who had been healed of gallstones, and it is daily meeting our needs in sickness and in health, as we rely wholly upon it. It has been our only physician since 1916 in a family of eight.
