Testimonies of Healing
Shortly after becoming a student of Christian Science, I was healed in one treatment of a great sense of grief. I had lost all peace of mind and could not perform my work properly.
That Christian Science does heal, and heal permanently, I have proved. When a child less than two years old, I had an attack of malignant scarlet fever, and my life was despaired of.
In 1918 our little daughter, then three years old, was taken ill with tympanitis. At that time my husband did not believe in the healing power of Christian Science; therefore we sent for a doctor, who, after several days of treatment, declared the child must undergo an operation.
In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, on page 390 , are these words: "It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony. " I should like to testify to the gratitude I feel that I have proved the truth of these words.
Over twelve years ago Christian Science found me in a hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, at the point of death. It healed me.
I wish to testify to the healing power of Truth and Love, as revealed in Christian Science. Owing to a supposed injury at birth, I was unable to walk for four years.
Twenty years ago I was an invalid, under the special care of a physician. Although still a child, I had undergone three operations.
I should like to tell of an almost instantaneous healing of a burned eye. One holiday a party of us were going on a picnic.
It has been my privilege for quite a number of years to know something of Christian Science and to witness, during that time, many beautiful healings of so-called incurable diseases among my friends, as well as to experience many healings myself. I should like to relate my first introduction to Christian Science.
I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I did not investigate it for physical healing for myself, but became interested when one of my children responded quickly to its application.
