Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science came to me over two years ago. I had never heard of it before, but thought I would study it.

The testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals have always been so inspiring to me that I, too, want to express my gratitude through them for Christian Science, which has been my friend, comforter, and physician for over eleven years. I did not come to Christian Science for physical healing, but sought it because its religious teachings appealed to me.

Since I have known of Christian Science, this religion has brought to my family and to me so many blessings that above all I wish to express my gratitude for the fact that Mrs. Eddy, through the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," has again revealed the way to health and the understanding of spiritual, eternal Life.

As a result of a Christian Science lecture delivered in one of our local churches I was healed of an attack of indigestion which had been with me steadily for three days. This is only one of many healings I have had in Christian Science, for which I am most grateful.

At the end of July, 1928, I was motoring through Denmark, and while calling on a friend I fell headlong on a pile of loose stones, landing on my right elbow. On getting up I found my arm was quite useless.

Christian Science was first brought to us over thirteen years ago by a dear friend who had been healed of gallstones, and it is daily meeting our needs in sickness and in health, as we rely wholly upon it. It has been our only physician since 1916 in a family of eight.

I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the many blessings we have received through the study and application of Christian Science. We have great cause for gratitude in the healing of our eight-year-old son during an epidemic of infantile paralysis.

Years of suffering had taken me to the place where there was no desire to live, and, coupled with the uncertainty of a hereafter, I was most miserable. Sleepless nights had been my portion for many months; yet when I started to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I had to keep my eyes open with my fingers while I tried to read one small paragraph.

I did not become interested in Christian Science for the purpose of obtaining help either physically or otherwise, as at that time I was enjoying the health which is common to healthy persons. If colds and grippe were prevalent I had them as a matter of course, and accepted them without knowing or understanding that they were not a part of real existence.

It has been with great gratitude that I have read the many and varied testimonies in the Journal and Sentinel, from which at all times I have found comfort and help. Now I should like.
