Testimonies of Healing

It is my desire publicly to express a measure of the gratitude that I daily feel for what Christian Science has done for me. Over six years ago, after the birth of our fourth child, I was in despair over my lack of strength and health.

Gratitude to God and to Christian Science prompts me to give my testimony. For four years I suffered from a nervous stomach complaint and great physical weakness.

I first heard of Christian Science in 1899. A copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was handed to me.

While I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing, many discordant conditions have been overcome, among them a fibroid tumor that the doctor had said could be cured only by an operation and a dislocated knee joint of long standing. Eyeglasses which oculists had told me I would always have to wear have been discarded.

When Christian Science was first brought to my notice I could not accept it because I could not understand it, the reason for this being, as I now see, that I seemed to be so steeped in materiality. Then came the healing through Christian Science treatment of an open wound, which was the result of an operation I had had.

When Christian Science came into my life, about seven years ago, I did not believe or think it possible that so much inner peace and so many blessings could come to anyone from just reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The benefits that have come to me are too numerous to mention, but I should like to tell of one experience that I had early last summer.

About eleven years ago my mother tried Christian Science as a last resort and was healed. She had been a sufferer for years with two kinds of heart disease, and had been given up by her doctors.

Several years ago I began to study the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. A doctor had told me that I would have nervous prostration if I did not stop worrying.

Christian Science has met my every need for eighteen years. I have been healed by it of nervousness, sick headaches, a badly broken foot, fevers, influenza, and colds.
