"A FEW THINGS"

He who is faithful in a few small things Shall rule o'er many, so our Master said— Bid many thoughts of fear and sin depart And know the happiness a kind thought brings. THE JERICHO ROAD

I might be the one on the Jericho road, Robbed, wounded, and left to die; Or I might have passed by on the other side, Pride and disdain in my eye. But I may be the one from Samaria, Who cares for his brother's woe: He is calling now on the Jericho road; He is calling, and I must go!

EGYPT

Egypt! Back rolls the curtain, and we view From out the past a scene that will endure. TO THE MORNING

Hushed is the earth! The miracle of morn Unfolds with splendor; radiant loveliness Welcomes with silent praise the day newborn— And bird note blends with east wind's soft caress. Faint beams of light the crimson clouds pierce through; The stars, those quiet watchmen of the night, Withdraw, ere sunshine sweeps the skies of blue And bathes the universe in glorious light.

PRAISE

Hark! Hear the song from grateful hearts upspringing! Praise, praise to God the multitude is singing, To heavenly harmony men's thoughts are winging, With joyous gratitude life's work is ringing, While "on earth peace" the living prayer is bringing.

SINGING

The lark is mute the while it feels the earth, But, with its upward winging, Its voice, as though released to instant birth, Pours out in raptured singing! Heed thou the lesson by this action taught, Thou, who wouldst fain be springing Free from the fetters earth for thee hath wrought: Think heavenward, and start singing!

GOD NEEDS YOU

Ah, how sweet the message falls On listening hearts; like glad resounding walls They echo it. The voice forever calls: Arise! Employ your waiting eager hands, And quickly follow His all-wise demands.
