The night before I left my home to work for the United States Foreign Service, I opened the Bible to these verses: "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? .
The family witnessed God's care and protection throughout the Second World War.

Our son and daughter were a mere fourteen days old when we adopted them in Brazil. They were suffering from malnutrition, and they were in poor health.
My gratitude for Christian Science is boundless! I feel so blessed to have been raised in a home where Science was practiced. Making Science "my own," however— really understanding true selfhood and man's unbroken, harmonious, glorious relationship to God—has been an ongoing endeavor.
