Recently while cutting a trail in a canyon in the mountains near by, it was necessary to remove a large quantity of what is called "poison oak," which grew in great profusion and to a considerable height. I worked for several hours in removing it, and during the following night I suffered so intensely that I called for help from a Christian Science practitioner over the telephone and was given absent treatment. This was so effective that in a few minutes all pain left me and I slept.
It was, however, a vicious attack, and the next day an eruption appeared on my face and hands and other parts of the body, and presented an alarming condition which was noticed by my friends. Many kinds of remedies were spoken of, and the opinion was general that my condition was very serious. I, however, called on the practitioner who had so kindly helped me in the night, and during the treatment the condition improved in a very tangible way, the effect of the poison visibly subsiding, proving, even for any who might doubt, the immediate effectiveness and healing power of Christian Science. I had one more treatment the next day, which resulted in the complete eradication of the poison within two or three days and the entire obliteration of any sign of it at the end of the week.
