SINAI AND OLIVET

From the May 1915 issue of The Christian Science Journal

With thunderings, smoke, and leaping flame,
The Mosaic law on Mount Sinai came;
And all the tribes, of Abraham begot,
Trembled and feared before God's "Thou shalt not."

When, heralded by star and angel song,
The gentle Jesus taught the silent throng,
Their stony hearts were melted as they saw
That "love is the fulfilling of the law."
