I was healed of astigmatism through reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. With the loving, patient help of practitioners when necessary, many diseases have been healed. I have been healed of what were termed nervousness, sore throat, hemorrhage, cough, boils, eczema, and many minor difficulties. I think I had been studying less than one year when our boy, about six years old, fell out of a tree and dislocated a shoulder joint. This was set and healed by Truth while I was asking a practitioner for help over the telephone. When I returned to the child, the arm was in place and he was asleep.
Not long ago our little girl, aged five, walked off the roof backwards. I was not at home when it happened, but was met on the way home and told of the accident. I voiced the truth audibly the rest of the way home, and when I arrived the child was calm and composed, with a clear thought, although those about her were very much disturbed. I was told a physician had been called by the father, who was not interested in Christian Science; but I knew the only Physician to be God. I called a practitioner for help, and in less than two hours the child was walking and playing around. The physician did not arrive until about four or five hours after the occurrence. He examined her thoroughly and said he could not find a tender or bruised spot or an injury of any description. The skin was not even discolored, except for a few slight scratches on the ankle. The children also have been healed of chicken pox. Measles was met overnight; and scarlet fever, which was diagnosed but not treated by a physician, was healed in less than a week.
I have learned, and am proving, that nothing is impossible to God, "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." I also want to express my gratitude for the lectures and for the services. I am grateful for The Christian Science Benevolent Association at Boston, Massachusetts, where I had the privilege of being a guest. I am grateful for the spiritual understanding of the Bible which I have gained through the study of Science and Health. I am grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving us this truth in a way that all may understand.— Nyack, New York.
