Christian Science has been my...

From the January 1930 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science has been my constant help for the past eleven years. There is nothing for which I am more grateful, as it has proved to be a practical religion, not only healing my physical ailments but solving each problem as it presents itself.

For many years I knew about Christian Science; but I was very antagonistic to it until I went to college and was forced to think for myself. There it was a constant help to me in my work and in overcoming homesickness.

After my marriage I went to live in a small lumber town in British Columbia. A very beautiful demonstration occurred, showing Gods protecting care always. The logs had been sent down the river on the spring drive and were all held in place by strong steel cables to be cut at the mill as needed. Suddenly the river rose, piling the logs on top of one another and causing a terrific jam. Great fear was expressed that the cables would break and all the timber of the winter's cutting be carried down the river beyond the mill and lost. My husband and I worked mentally, knowing that God is the only power, and that His power is for good always, never for destruction or loss. The river went down and the townspeople were amazed, saying that if the water had risen one inch higher all would have been lost.
