For many years I have been a beneficiary of Mrs. Eddy's discovery, Christian Science, and I have been very grateful for her teaching of God as infinite good. I found it rather hard to grasp the meaning of the word "infinite," but the statement that "God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 465) made it very clear to me. Through the knowledge of God's ever-presence and goodness, I have had many healings. When I was in need, Christian Science was presented to me by a neighbor who was living its truths. A practitioner was called, and I received an absent treatment for dysentery. I was healed instantaneously. For that healing I have never ceased to be grateful. I also experienced painless childbirth.
In my twenty-four years in Science, numerous physical ills have been overcome. I am learning to rely radically on Truth.
Just before going to church one Sunday morning I stepped on a needle, which broke off, leaving about one eighth of an inch of it in my foot. The pain, as well as every suggestion connected with it, was overcome during the service. However, the next day my family became anxious, and to satisfy them I went to a surgeon, who discouraged the removal of the needle without an anaesthetic. A Christian Scientist was then called to work for me, with the result that the needle came out in a normal way.
