O Love divine, when shall we be
In firm obedience held,
Not turned aside by falsity,
Nor by ill-will compelled?
May we have motives pure and kind
True health and peace to win,
Not vaguely wandering like the blind
With no bright hope within.
Reveal to us the shining face
Of mercy that forgives,
Whereby our lives may grow in grace
With all that loves and lives.
Let faith and hope and love combined
Enrich us, make us whole,
That we may know with open mind
The perfectness of Soul.
